I'm Melanja.
I've been behind a camera and inside an edit suite since 2008, cutting campaigns in Amsterdam for Nike, Karl Lagerfeld and Calvin Klein, with agencies like 72andSunny and Wieden+Kennedy.
Before any of that, I trained as a dancer in Florence. That's where I learned rhythm, pacing, and the weight a pause can carry: the things that make a cut feel true.
Alongside commissioned work, I make my own films. Un Talento Ingombrante, a portrait of my aunt, the artist Silvana Secchi, was recognised at festivals in Italy and Los Angeles. And I paint, watercolour and ink on paper, about what we feel and don't. It's the same attention, only slower.
