About me

Sardinian by nationality, my name is Melanja Palitta - founder of Balans LaB, video editor and videographer based in Amsterdam.

Originally trained as a dancer in Florence, I moved to the Netherlands in 2006. In 2008, during my transition from performing arts to the digital world, I created Balans LaB. That shift taught me something I carry into every project: balance isn't stillness — it's motion.

For over 17 years I've worked across fashion, brand, and documentary content — with clients including Nike, Karl Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein, 72andSunny, and Plan International.

My background in dance shapes how I work. Rhythm, pacing, the emotional weight of a cut — these are never an afterthought. I work closely with teams, but I'm also comfortable working independently. What matters most is a smooth process and a video that lands exactly as it should.

Editing, for me, is a form of connection. When the rhythm aligns, something deeper comes through.
